Another woven piece. This time using a magazine photo painted with watercolor and watercolor paper painted with watercolor. I am especially pleased with the tumbling feel of the horizontal bars in this piece.
You are incredibly inventive. I am so impressed. I am always excited to see what you are doing. In fact, I have been showing my roommates your work because I think it is so interesting.
i like the direction of the weavings a lot. imagine how awesome it would be if you did a series of large-scale weavings that were a few feet high. that would be sweet. i think you should try using your own photographs instead of borrowing other peoples. it would make them more original and give you more control over the work you're producing. i want to see your perspective as an artist, not just how you interpret other peoples' works. not like you have a shortage of photographs, either . . .
I can't wait ti see this in person ... have you thought about making these really large... say four x five feet?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about it, but that would be really neat!

ReplyDeleteThe color contrast on this works really well... My favorite part is the pink strip "spearing" the model's head - amusing yet intriguing
